The essence of this workshop will be on what to look for,
how to simplify and make an exciting statement. I will
focus on starting with simple shapes and building onward towards
a finished painting. Light creates several moods. Color
is an element which unifies and harmonizes. I particularly find
late afternoon light very exciting. We will work with the
light and its effects, share ideas on how to approach
a painting and also work on our goals and direction to follow
in a painting. There will be some demonstrations and lots
of individual attention. We will paint on location at all
times(unless inclement weather forces us inside to work with
photographs). I have no secrets about the way I paint;
my philosophy or approach. There are no shortcuts in reaching
our goals, just hard work and determination, I want to help
each student find their own road to follow.
