ACRYLIC PAINTING – LANDSCAPE

September 20 – 24

Tuition: $450.

Understanding the characteristics of acrylic paint is the primary theme of this workshop.  Students will receive landscape painting instruction in the studio and on location.  Color, composition, atmospheric light and architectural elements will be emphasized and demonstrated daily.  Individual attention will be given to problem solving in the demanding disciplines of this medium.  It is recommended the applicants have acrylic experience.

The Artist: William Hook paints with a broad brush and an enthusiasm for creating minimalist works.  Along with his brushwork, Hook’s knowledge and use of color is what distinguishes his style.  His education began at the Kansas City Art Institute.  He later attended the University of New Mexico (BFA); Universita Italiana Per Straniere, Italy; and the Art Center College of Design in CA. His paintings are included in museum, corporate and private collections worldwide.  Hook is a “master artist” member of the Artists of America.  He has been featured in many art publications, including Leading the West by Donald Haggerty, 1997.  Hook is represented by: Carson Gallery, CO, Howard Portnoy Gallery, CA, Meyer Gallery, NM and Morris & Whiteside Galley, SC.
